FAQ

Common questions about ev chargers.

Should I get a NEMA 14-50 outlet or a hardwired charger?

Hardwired is recommended for fastest charge (up to 48A continuous on Tesla Wall Connector) and is cleaner-looking. NEMA 14-50 is more flexible if you might move charger or use a portable Tesla Mobile Connector.

Do I need a panel upgrade for an EV charger?

Sometimes. Most homes with a 200A panel can add a 40A EV circuit without issues. Older homes with 100A panels often need a load management device (NeoCharge, DCC-9) or full panel upgrade.

How long does installation take?

Most installs are 4–8 hours. Long conduit runs or panel work in finished walls can extend it to a full day.

Can you install in my detached garage?

Yes. We run a feeder from the main panel through underground conduit (or attic/exterior) to the garage subpanel and EV outlet.

Do you install at apartment buildings?

Yes — we handle multi-unit residential EV installs and work with HOAs/property managers on shared chargers.
